Aki's Nissan 300ZX with Trans-Am LS1 6-Speed Swap

Aki main reasons for swapping LS-1 into his 300ZX was a demand for more low end power, weight savings and balance. The firewall was cut and the engine set back for best weight distribution. See below for our Longacre corner balance results Fabrication was carefully thought out and fabricated to keep this car streetable.Items such as misc. accessories, window wipers, dash and console components were all retained.



Engine: Stock LS1 from a WS6 Tran-Am, Professional Products Intake Manifold, Throttle Body, Fuel Rails, Comp Cams Camshaft


Transmission/Driveline: Stock 6-speed, BT Stage 3 LS1 Clutch and Chromoly Flywheel Combo, Custom Driveshaft, Twin Turbo Differential

Induction/Injection: Custom Fab 4" Aluminum Cold Air Intake; NOS 150 Shot Nitrous System with Annular Fogger

Cooling: 4 Row Aluminum Radiator with Custom End Tanks and Piping, Derale 14" Slimline Fan

Ignition/Management/Electronics:: Stock LS1 Ignition System with MSD Wires, EFI Live Engine ManagementPainless Wiring Kit custom tailored to work the 300ZX chassis. Wired up stock tach, temp, oil pressure gauges to work in conjunction with the motor/trans/PCM

Interior: Sparco Evo Racing Seat (retained factory power seat motor), Nardi Steering Wheel, Momo Hub, BlackTrax Custom Shift Knob, Autometer Speedo

Exhaust: Custom Long Tube Headers Re-worked from a pair of Edelbrock Headers, Dual BT ECS Electric Cutouts, 2 Magnaflow Hi Flow Cats, Reduced to 3 Inch Single Stainless Steel Exhaust V-band connections with Magnaflow Muffler

Chassis/Brakes/Suspension: NEX Coilover Suspension 10KG Front 12KG Rear, F&R Strut Tower Bars, Custom BT 5 point Mild Steel DOM tubing Roll Cage, Custom BT Inner Fender Braces. misc. braces.

Corner Balance Weight: 3000lbs no driver with 1/2 tank gas. 3198 with driver. FRONT 52.7% REAR 47.3% Corner RF-LR 50.9% LF-RR 49.1%
