CMI Spring Jam @ Sacramento Raceway - April 3-4, 2004

The Spring Jam was cancelled due to rain. The people who were there got some fun runs in and will be able to attend the rescheduled event on April 24th at no extra cost. Saturday was a bad day for many people. Most people were lucky to get two runs in due to the numerous breakdowns halfway down the track. We had a little run in with breaking down also. The postponement actually worked to our advantage since one car broke and other cars weren't finished in time. We wanted to especially thank Alex and Dalton for stepping up and making this weekend more managable.

Natalie was running good until the clutch started to slip halfway through the day and then something snapped on the launch.

Calling around the entire Sacramento area, we found a clutch in Auburn and sent Natalie on her way to pick it up. We were determined to get the car back up and running by Sunday. Think that was a snag, someone else at the front of the parking lot snagged our tow truck. Funny how you tell them it's a dark blue Prelude and they end up towing a black Civic.

After getting Natalie's car back to our hotel, Alex and I busted the tools out and got working. By 2am the clutch was in and the tranny was back up

Alex, working on the right was too fast for the camera!

Upon putting the axles back in, we found this in the LSD. Just small enough where we didn't notice it when we knocked out the axle. Notice the distorted splines.

Natalie's axle splines literally sheared right off of the axle during the launch. At 2am Dalton came through and drove up the other axles from Milpitas so that we could finish this car. By 5am the car was back on the ground, the sun was coming up and Jei was ordering Starbucks.

The sun came up and Nat was back at the track.

All the cars lined up waiting for the track to be cleaned up
